What is RFID?

Radio Frequency Identification is commonly held in chips which are in cards, identification and passports.

This information can by accessed using a device such as a contactless payment machine to take a payment.  Unfortunately this information can also be taken by individuals using unauthorised devices.

To keep your details safe using a product with RFID protection can prevent this information from being stolen.

Many of Malas products now have RFID protection. This protection is placed under the outer layer of leather and will keep you information safe when enclosed in the product.

The RFID protection which we use has been tested successfully by SGS in April 2016. The fabric is suitable to sufficiently shield the commercially used frequency 13,56MHz

Please note, this RFID does not stop door scanners which operate on a higher frequency.
